load of gas

october's gas bill: $30
november's gas bill: $85.

sheeshhh...

they raised gas rates in the state of id by about 25% this year, so according to my calculation, i would have actually paid abt $65 last winter.
what can you do but suck it up.

all the trimmings

this weekend (dec 3-4), i filled in the nail holes on the door trim with white wood filler. and then painted the exposed new wood with white trim paint. it's looking better. again shoddy craftmanship on the door frame. if you look closely. hideous, careless joints and seams. but what'd done is done. now all that i can do is try to hide as much of the shoddiness with caulk and filler as i can. again caulking is a lot more involved than i thought.
after all this, i come away with a new sense of appreciation for housing construction. how does one manage so many little cosmetic things that are integral to a job well done without taking forever to finish building a house?
