home turf

my yard is a festival of bugs and weeds, despite applying turf builder with weed control both in the fall and in march this year. bugs were creeping and crawling everywhere so i sprayed the yard with an ortho insect killing formula. next morning driveway and porch were full of dead bugs. but within two or three weeks, found ants freely roaming along edge of yard and building elaborate homesteads on my property. am convinced that all products sold to householders at home and garden stores are useless waste of money. anything less than professional intervention proves totally inadequate in fighting pests and weeds permanently. i guess it is all economics. these products were not designed to provide permanent solutions to problems. they are a temporary relief for householders and a steady source of revenue for the producers.

at least turf builder has made the grass dense. so much so that mowing is a struggle every step of the way.
